About our local Heart of Illinois Chapter
Government agencies spend millions of dollars every year on business meetings, trainings and professional development. The Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) is the only national organization dedicated to developing professionalism in government meeting management. The Heart of Illinois Chapter provides the opportunity for professional meeting managers to build their meeting planning skills and to network with others on a monthly basis. As the only professional meetings industry association specializing in the government market, SGMP offers its members opportunities for professional development through monthly educational presentations and networking opportunities as well as regional and national educational events and conferences. SGMP offers programs and opportunities for both the beginning and experienced planner.
